Containrized Shipping
Containerized shipping is a very common method for expediting the movement of household goods and products.
Your commercial products or household goods are loaded into a protective steel container, similar to a semi truck trailer (without wheels).
The container is loaded onto an ocean going vessel. Upon arrival clearance, the container can be loaded onto a trailer for delivery to your location.
A Container can hold
Standard containers come in two sizes: 20’ and 40’ in length. The 20’ container can hold approximately 1050 cubic feet (the contents of a one bedroom apartment). The 40’ container can hold approximately 2100 cubic feet.
How to prepare my products
All household goods should be securely packed in corrugated cardboard boxes and/or palletized. A container will be assigned for delivery to your location. Upon completion of loading, the container will be sealed and delivered to the embarkation point.
Documents Required to Export my Household Goods
While itemization is not required for household goods, it is recommended that a general list with item values be provided. Packing list showing unit quantities and values are needed for commercial product shipments. The above documents are needed to expedite export clearance and will be returned upon completion of the U.S. Customs export clearance verification.

ocean transit. Consult your insurance company to determine whether
marine insurance is included within your existing policies. Global

we can provide an estimate, if requested, with your quotation.
Will there be anyone to assist me at custom
clearance?

the time of sailing.
How long will the shipment take?

and port of arrival. Vessel sailings are regularly scheduled; Global
Shipping & Freight can provide estimated sailing departure dates.
Please understand that the departure dates are estimated; the actual
departure can occur a few says earlier or later than scheduled.
What Does Less Than Container Load Mean?
Less than container load is a shipping term referring to the
quantity of personal effects or commercial product being shipped
would not be enough to fill a standard 20’ ocean transit container.

What do I Need to do to Prepare my vehicle for Shipment?
Please make sure your vehicle does not contain more than ¼ tank of fuel and all personal items are removed. Only items that were original equipment (include the spare tire and changing tools) or permanently installed after market items can be shipped with your vehicle. Personal effects, under certain circumstances, may be shipped with your vehicle if special arrangements are made.
What Documents are Required to Export My Vehicle?
U.S. Customs officials require either the original title of vehicle ownership or a certified copy of the title. Certification of the title can only be made by the department of motor vehicles for the state of residence. Notarized copies of the title are not acceptable. If a lien (load) is held on the vehicle, a letter from the lien holder referencing the year, make, model, VIN (vehicle identification number) of the vehicle and specifically granting you authorization to ship your car to the destination country. The letter must be on the lien holder’s original letterhead, signed and dated by the lien holder and provide a contact address and telephone number. If there is a lien on your vehicle and you do not provide appropriate documents, U.S. customs will reject our paperwork and your shipment will be delayed.
